Genderhood participates for the second consecutive year in Meet and Code, a programme within the framework of the European Code Week.
The aim of Meet and Code is to introduce children and young people aged 8 to 24 to the world of technology and programming. The events are designed to show young people how much fun programming can be and how it can help generate ideas. They will learn how technology works and how computing affects our everyday lives. By exploring a wide range of technology, digital topics and creative programming, they will be encouraged to develop the digital skills they need in today’s world.
The projects implemented as part of Meet and Code 2020 were as follows:
Behind Meet and Code are SAP, Haus des Stiftens gGmbH and the network partners of TechSoup Europe.

For children aged 8-12
Level of difficulty: Low
Gamers Inc. is aimed at a mixed group of girls and boys aged 8-12 years old. The main goal is to bridge the digital gender gap through education and empowerment, providing the group with the tools and inspiration to learn about the gaming industry and inform future career opportunities.
Through the historical retrospective, the “big” female names and what their achievements in programming and gaming are will be highlighted. The focus will then turn to the future, presenting participants with the scientific and professional prospects of a career in code and technology (career absorption, development, financial rewards). By combining art-based learning with learning about technology, children are encouraged to make equal use of their skills.
The workshop will be conducted through the ZOOM platform.
