Living Postcards for gender equality
Living Postcards is an innovative art project dedicated to challenging gender stereotypes and promoting the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and LGBTQI+ rights through illustration. By empowering artists and fostering community engagement, the project creates a platform for sensitive and often overlooked topics to be explored through visual storytelling. Living Postcards combines art and activism to inspire change, provoke dialogue and empower communities in Greece and beyond.

Empowerment Activities for Adults
Six illustrators will create postcard designs based on the themes “My Body My Choice,” “Diverse Femininities,” and “Invisible Women.” These themes will be further explored in four interactive workshops (in-person in Athens and online), facilitated by female illustrators and aiming to engage adults with art experience to create unique illustrations with these themes.

Awareness Raising Campaign
The postcards will be printed and distributed in schools, cultural hubs, protests, and community events, supporting a public campaign against sexism and descrimination. A curated catalogue compiling the artworks and participants’ insights will serve as a collective manifesto. The project will culminate in a two-day exhibition showcasing the results.

Educational Activities for Teenagers
18 creative workshops will be delivered to around 360 public high school students in Attica, using the illustrations already produced along with non-formal education techniques to challenge gender stereotypes and discuss the role of boys and men as allies in preventing GBV.
Target groups:
- Adults with interest in illustration, femininities, and LGBTQI+ community members
- Participants in feminist and LGBTQI+ movements, public high school students, and the general public
- Fine art schools and grassroots organizations supporting women and LGBTQI+ rights
- General public
