In this feature, girls are in the spotlight, whether they are the protagonists of the films or the directors/creators. The festival aims at viewing the world differently, discovering stories about women that speak to us all, giving an opportunity for new voices to be heard, through the films, topics and discussions, actions and workshops that frame the program. Real girls who live around us, with us, among us will give us an opportunity to be inspired, regardless of gender, to leave behind prejudice and stereotypes with the support of family, friends, school, and to freely cultivate our abilities, use our talents, express our sensitivities and pursue our dreams, in an equal world that has a place for all of us.
Synai/no
The workshop aims to convey to children the importance of consent in their daily lives, and the benefit of educating children on how to say yes and no. Introducing children to the concepts of consent and physical autonomy, the positive changes they bring to interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution with peer groups and some adults are highlighted. Through an interactive game, children are encouraged to practice the ways in which they can give their consent, or not, e.g. knowing how to set boundaries for a touch. Finally, the group is asked to create their own table with consensual greetings, which can be a gesture from a distance without having physical contact. Thus, children practice how to claim what they “want” and feel comfortable and safe in their daily lives.
