At Genderhood we launched the first crowdfunding campaign titled “Genderhood: Together we make a box for Consent” with the aim of creating an innovative educational tool for building consensual relationships in children of ages 6 to 12.
In this initiative, we need you by our side!
Genderhood was created in 2017 and within 5 years of action has raised awareness for the values of gender equality to 2500 children and over 500 adults in 7 Greek cities through 77 workshops. The pandemic suspended our action for the most part, as most of the workshops took place in educational institutions. However, it has not been able to suspend our commitment to projects that meet the needs of our time and pave the way for a substantial gender equality.
We decided to design Synai/no due to:
- the prolonged isolation due to Covid-19
- the increase in cases of domestic violence
- the explosion of the Greek #metoo with complaints from sportswomen, and artists
Synai/no
With your valuable support we will create Synai/no, a tool kit, a “toolbox”, in the form of a box that includes 3 + 1 non-formal learning games for children 6 to 12 years old. Parents and/or guardians are involved in the game as well.
The games will be designed by our experienced team with the aim of developing critical thinking skills around issues that require consent. In other words, children will be trained to set their boundaries clearly and unequivocally – in terms of body and mood – and at the same time to respect the boundaries of others. Through Synai/no, children will understand their right to say “yes” without pressure and “no” without fear.
The Synai/no box includes:
- board game (board)
- role cards
- interactive poster
- arts and crafts project
It is of great importance to us that our actions have the greatest possible social impact and for this reason the Synai/ no was designed as a traveling box. It will be delivered by post to as many homes as possible inside and outside major urban centers.
With your help, the box can reach more and more doors throughout Greece for free.
