Introducing PreWorks: Prevention Works for a Safer, Healthier Future
PreWorks (Prevention Works) is a new project, and we at Genderhood are happy to be a member of. It aims at tackling one of today’s most critical and sensitive topics among youths: the prevention of sexually transgressive behaviour (STB) through modern, comprehensive sexual and relationships education.
Rooted in the principles of gender equality, inclusivity, and sexual well-being, PreWorks empowers both youths aged 13 to 30 and the professionals who support them with the tools, resources, and knowledge to foster healthier, respectful relationships — and to stop STB before it starts.Living Postcards is an innovative art project dedicated to challenging gender stereotypes and promoting the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and LGBTQI+ rights through illustration. By empowering artists and fostering community engagement, the project creates a platform for sensitive and often overlooked topics to be explored through visual storytelling. Living Postcards combines art and activism to inspire change, provoke dialogue and empower communities in Greece and beyond.
Our Mission
PreWorks is dedicated to:
- Developing evidence-based prevention interventions for adolescents and young adults.
- Equipping youth workers and non-formal educators with high-quality training, guidance, and educational materials.
- Promoting a cross-European framework tailored to diverse cultural needs by a raising awareness campaign.
We believe that prevention works best when it’s open, inclusive, and empowering — not fear-based. Through dialogue, creativity, and informed practices, we aim to make sexuality and relationship education a safe space for everyone.

What We 're Doing
1. Group Prevention Intervention
At the heart of PreWorks is a multilingual, research-driven prevention curriculum, featuring:
- 4 x 90-minute sessions
- Interactive presentations, handouts, videos, and self-reflection guidesA digital resource library accessible to youth professionals across Europe
This content is being co-designed with experts and stakeholders, piloted with real users, and refined based on in-depth research led by Ruhr University Bochum and DIAK University.
2. Train the Trainers
We’re building a sustainable support network by training youth work professionals from partner organizations across Europe. These trainers will:
- Learn to implement the prevention intervention in diverse contexts
- Act as multipliers within their own communities
- Share best practices across borders
3. Tackle the Taboo
Youth voices are at the core of PreWorks. Through creative workshops, young people will:
- Co-create campaign materials (slogans, posters, illustrations)
- Lead the conversation around taboos and stigma
- Encourage open, respectful dialogue about relationships and STB
This youth-led campaign work is designed to raise awareness, reduce shame, and spark societal change.

Who It's for (Target Group)
PreWorks supports:
- Youth aged 13 to 30, at a critical life stage where issues of attraction, consent, media influence, and peer pressure can intersect with risk factors for STB.
- Youth work professionals, who need more than just mandatory reporting protocols — they need practical tools to educate, prevent, and support young people’s sexual well-being.
A Europe-Wide Collaboration
PreWorks brings together a passionate consortium of European partners united by a shared vision: a continent where young people grow up with confidence, empathy, and respect for boundaries. We are happy to be part of a multidisciplinary consortium consisting by: Ruhr University Bochum, Genderhood, DIAK, PSG NRW, City of Rotterdam, WelJong, Society & Me.
The project is co-funded by European Union (Erasmus+).
